about C.R. PATTABHI RAMAN

Shri. C.R. Pattabhi Raman, who was formerly the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and the Minister in the Cabinets of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri and Smt. Indira Gandhi, passed away in the year 2001 at the age of 94. He was born on November 11, 1906 and 2006 is the centenary year of his birth. He was a freedom fighter, donor to several charitable institutions and one of the leading lights of Chennai.

The C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation brought out the commemorative stamp on his birthday on November 11, 2006, as a part of the centenary celebrations.
